At Nellions, we have been monitoring developments regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and as a Socially Responsible business, have taken the time to learn how it is spread and implemented measures to minimize its impact on our customers, our staff, and the communities we serve.

Containment

We are currently following advice from Uganda’s Ministry of Health and are playing our role in trying to contain the virus. We are monitoring staff health closely. None of our staff members have recently visited any of the countries with high infection cases or came into contact with the already known cases in Uganda and none of us have shown any symptoms of the virus. We are continuously monitoring the health conditions of all our staff.

Hygiene

Our employees have been sensitized in order to adopt preventative hygiene and will be granted the necessary care should any symptoms of coronavirus be identified. We have instructed our teams to wash their hands regularly with soap. We have stocked our offices with hand sanitizers, supplied all moving crews with soap, and we are requesting our clients to supply them with running water for washing hands during moves. We have also provided them with protective masks, which they will use appropriately. Our trucks are being regularly cleaned and sanitized as well, together with our moving materials. We will be very grateful for any assistance you can provide to help our teams contain and reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

Protection of our People

On moving day or during any visit to your home by our consultants, we kindly ask you to inform us of any persons staying with you who have recently travelled to countries where the virus is particularly prevalent. We may also request that they not be present during our time at the premises. Furthermore, during moving day, we ask that no other persons except the client is present to oversee the move.

Notification

Even after the move, should you become aware of something which would mean that our staff were exposed to COVID-19 when serving you, please let us know immediately so we can arrange self-isolation to attempt to contain the possible spread. Likewise, should we have the same view, we will notify you as soon as possible.

Finally,

The situation is still emerging and we expect more and more guidance from the government. In the unlikely event that measures are put in place which impact our ability to provide services to you (including but not limited to Nellions having to suspend or cancel the services in full), we will not be in a position to accept any liability for any losses that may arise and we limit our liability accordingly. We are reviewing the situation constantly and will ensure that all clients are advised of any developments that may affect fulfilment of contractual obligations.

We understand that some of these measures may sound strict, and given the number of households we visit weekly, we have an obligation to ensure that we do the most to minimize the risk of contracting and transmitting the virus. We ask for your understanding and thank you in advance for your co-operation.
