House Shifting Service Features

  • Free pre-move assessment:
  • Packing professionally, room by room, according to the type of household item, ensuring their safety. We use only the best packing materials available in the market.
  • Transport in covered, lockable and clean trucks.
  • All furniture is wrapped with special microfiber mover blankets for maximum protection.
  • The same care is applied in arranging your items in the moving truck to ensure they are not damaged in transit.
  • At the destination house, we unpack, reassemble and arrange furniture, place kitchenware, arrange bedroom contents, reconnect washing machines, cookers, home entertainment equipment etc.
  • Reconnect your DSTV/Zuku/GOTV and conduct some basic house keeping.
  • We have special packages for companies with national branch network within Uganda and thus with regular staff relocation needs.

The Shifting Process

Moving is a process that requires a lot of meticulous planning to ensure a swift, stress free transition for the entire family. There are three major stages during an inland/local house move:

  1. A) Pre-move process
  2. B) The Moving process
  3. C) Post Moving Process

A) Pre-Moving Process

Look for a suitable house/ apartment to move to Contact Nellions™ Moving and Relocations Ltd Get a Move Consultant assigned to your Move. This is when your moving journey with Nellions™ starts. The Move Consultant will contact you to:
  1. Book for a pre-move survey – it can either be an in-person, Virtual Survey (video call or pre-recorded video), pictorial or a list (either via email and over the phone)
  2. Visit your home based on your agreement in (1) above.
  3. Understand your moving requirements and address any concerns you might have/ queries
  4. Discuss the most practical move plan with you based on your needs, guide you through the d-day moving process and set expectations.
  5. Share a tailor-made no-obligation quotation on email.
  6. Book your move and handover to the Move Coordinator/ Move Anchor for d-day planning/ execution overview.
  7. Clear with the building/ property management on both ends.
  8. Get an sms advising your Move Captain for the entire actual moving process through our CRM.

B) The Moving Process

The Move Captain and the team will arrive at your current location on time.
  • He/ She will introduce his/ her team
  • They will request you to  show them around for a quick walkthrough to get a glimpse of the scope of work
  • Label the house/ articles with end in mind
  • He will introduce a set of documents to be used on the move day.
  • Set timelines with you.
  • The team will safeguard your items by ensuring 100% packing of the small items and wrapping for the furniture/ huge electronics
  • Load the items in a clean, covered, lockable moving truck(s).
  • Transport to the destination premises.
  • Unload and position to the respective rooms
  • Unpack/ unwrap the items
  • House- keeping ( putting the clothes in the closets, kitchenware in the respective cabinets/drawers, arranging the furniture to the respective position, making the bed, putting up the curtains, wall hangings, any electronic installation needed).

C) Post-Moving Process

  • Make the payment as agreed with the Move Consultant – An invoice will be provided
  • Expect a call from our Quality Control Team a few days after your move for follow-up (move experience and any other feedback you deem necessary).
  • Rate our service.

Moving Insurance

Nellions™ Moving is insured under Professional Liability All Risk Insurance Covers. However, our insurance is general cover and can only cover to a certain limit.

While not necessary, we recommend getting your own insurance cover if you have high value goods that will be moved.

We can place the cover on your behalf at a fee or you can do it through your insurer. All you need to provide is an itemized valued inventory, a copy of your identity document (passport or ID) and a copy of the URA TIN.

Northern Uganda: Amolatar, Adjumani, Apac, Arua, Gulu, Kaabong, Kitgum, Koboko, Kotido, Lira ,Moroto, Moyo, Nakapiripirit, Nebbi, Pader, Yumbe.
